The situation
Windows and doors is a considered purchase. Homeowners research for weeks before they request a quote, and the searches they run change as they move through that process. Early on they are asking what things cost and which materials last. Later they are searching for a supplier in their city. A business that only shows up at the final stage is competing on price against everyone else who shows up there.
This retailer serves the GTA and was not capturing the earlier stages of that journey.
What we found
A traffic increase of this size does not come from optimising a handful of existing pages. It comes from a site covering a materially larger share of the queries its buyers actually run.
What we did
We mapped the queries buyers run at each stage, from early questions about materials and cost through to supplier searches in a specific city, and built the site out to cover them. That meant pages for the product and service categories that had none, and content answering the research-stage questions the site had been leaving to competitors.
Technical fixes ran alongside the publishing, so new pages were crawled and indexed as they went live rather than sitting in a queue. Links were earned to support the pages carrying the clearest commercial intent, which are the ones competitors target directly.
The results
Organic traffic grew 400%, and the site now holds 340 or more keywords on page one.
The second number matters more than it first appears. Traffic growth can come from a single page catching a broad informational term, which looks impressive in a report and produces nothing commercially. Three hundred and forty page-one keywords is a different shape of result. It means visibility spread across the full range of terms this buyer uses, from research through to purchase intent, which is what produces a steady flow of quote requests rather than a spike.
What this means for your business
Considered purchases reward content depth. Ranking for the terms buyers use three weeks before they are ready to buy is how you reach them before your competitors do. That is what our content marketing and on-page SEO work is built for.
