The situation
A multi-service Midtown clinic was invisible in Google Maps. For a dental practice this is the worst place to be invisible, because the map pack sits above the organic results for almost every query a prospective patient runs. A clinic that does not appear there is not competing for the majority of the available demand, regardless of how well its website ranks below.
What we found
Map pack invisibility in a dense area is rarely one problem. It is usually a Google Business Profile that does not tell Google what the clinic actually does, combined with a website that offers no page matching any specific procedure a patient searches for, and a review profile too thin to establish prominence against nearby clinics.
What we did
We rebuilt the Google Business Profile around the procedures the clinic actually performs, so its categories and service listings match what patients search for rather than a general dentistry label. On the site, catch-all service copy was replaced with pages targeting individual procedures, giving each of those searches a page built to answer it.
A post-appointment review request flow was put in place. Volume was not the objective. Recency and steadiness matter more to local prominence than a large number of reviews arriving at once, and a compliant request flow that produces a few every month outperforms a one-off push. Nothing was gated or incentivised.
The results
New patient calls grew 172%.
Calls are the right metric for a clinic. Sessions and impressions can move without a single new patient booking, and in a practice where the front desk answers the phone, calls are what the owner actually recognises as the result.
What this means for your practice
For a clinic, the map pack is the whole game. Everything else is secondary until you appear there. Our dental clinic SEO and local SEO work starts with the profile, not the website.
